Following on from an earlier article around morning routines, I received a few questions about what to do if you don’t have much time? Well firstly, if you don’t have time for a detailed morning routine, I expect you don’t have time to read a long article either! So, I will keep this brief!
To recap, we want to MAP our morning to set ourselves up for success.
Movement: Practice diaphragmatic (deep belly) breathing for a count of 1-4-2. In for 1, hold 4, out 2. This lymphasises your body and can be done in the shower, while getting ready or on the way to work. Add in some calf raises while you’re doing it for an extra lymphatic boost! A healthy lymph system is one of the most important systems in the body to create wellness and drains the body of toxins. A great way to kick-start your day!
Affirmations: These are empowering statements said aloud with emotion. This can be done while getting ready, or you may choose to write them down on your journey to work, or at least type them in your phone as you are queueing for your coffee. Think about what it is you want to achieve, or the person you want to become, and then create an affirmation around it.
Priorities: What are the top 3 things you must achieve today? Jot them down in your phone before you send the first email of the day.
There you go! Three quick and simple ways for you to incorporate an empowering, but flexed, morning routine into your day.
Remember, small consistent steps lead to greatness. Once you have established a new routine, challenge yourself to add something extra to help you move to that next level. Check out my earlier article “Are you setting yourself up for success today” for a more detailed read on what that could look like.
